Chest PA (A) and lateral (B) radiographs |
The azygos vein (straight arrow) is enlarged.
The pulmonary vasculature is increased on both views, especially toward the bases (gravitational).
The pulmonary vessels are indistinct, and there are bilateral pleural effusions (curved arrows).
It is interesting to note that the cardiac size is within normal limits, suggesting a sudden onset of pulmonary edema.
Sign of Pulmonary Edema...
1. Cardiomegaly (CTR >50%)
2. Central infiltrate
3. Hilus enlargement
4. Cranialization
5. Pulmonary vasculature increase >2/3 of the lung bilaterally
6. Curly (from lateral to central / from basal to central)
1 komentar:
(Curly)Kerley B lines represent interlobular lymphatics which have been distended by fluid or tissue.
Kerley B lines are usually an indication of raised pulmonary venous pressure due to:
>left ventricular failure
>mitral stenosis
Other causes include:
>lymphangitis carcinomatosa
>pulmonary fibrosis
>parasitic infection
